Our Crawling Caterpillars room provides care for up to nine babies at any time. We follow parents’ wishes and adapt routines to meet the individual needs of each baby in our care.

The room is homely and inviting, full of natural light and has views across our gardens. We have a quiet area with cushions, bean bags and baby nests, where the babies listen to stories and nursery rhymes and begin to interact with their carers and one another. Babies lay and crawl on soft rugs as they explore our sensory area and treasure baskets. Other areas are also provided for messy play, meals and snacks, and nappy changes.

We support babies as they learn to crawl, stand and feed themselves with a spoon. New skills are learnt and practised and each baby is given lots of praise, encouragement and reassurance.
